Bow Fiddle Mono
Bow Fiddle rock at Portknockie in Banffshire at dawn on a cold winters morning. The textures of the rocks are the main draw here and contrast well with the water which is rendered smooth by the long exposure.

The beach at the small North East fishing village of Findochty in Banffshire. Even in mid-winter it still has its attractions.

Lossie Boards
The breakwater at the East beach, Lossiemouth in Moray is isolated by the high tide and the long exposure enhances that feeling of isolation. The one glimpse of sun was welcome and was shortly followed by a blizzard.

Winter storms from the east often whip up dramatic wave conditions and at high tide the lighthouse on the breakwater at Girdleness, Aberdeen and this is a typical example.

Anti Wave
After all the "Big Wave" shots recently I rescinded and used a long exposure to soften the water and create a more ethereal effect.

Knockespock Pond
Mid-winter at Knockespock, near Clatt in Aberdeenshire, I had to wait for the snow showers to abate before I could capture this peaceful scene.

Little copse of trees just south of Stonehaven, which I always am attracted to when I pass by. This time the scene was enhanced by a dusting of snow.

Crawton Cliff Falls
There is not always a lot of water flowing over the falls at Crawton, but on this day some heavy overnight rain locally ensured a decent flow.

Mothers Day Aurora
It is unusual even for a strong Aurora Borealis display to be visible in the centre of a large town, due to levels of light pollution from streetlamp etc. I took the lazy approach and captured it from the back window of my house, sat in a rocking chair with a glass of red wine in one hand and the camera remote in the other!!!

A fine early spring day at the Linn of Quoich in the Mar Estate, Braemar. Water levels were lower than I had hoped for meaning the pulpit rock wasn't submerged.
