Images chosen by the Judges in the annual UK Landscape Photographer of the Year competion run by renowned landscape photographer Charlie Waite and organised by Take-a-View

Gruinard Waves
Almost abstract in form the way that the waves and the sand ripples interact on the wonderful beach at Gruinard Bay.
This image of Gruinard Bay, in Wester Ross, at low tide was commended by the judges in the Living the View section of the 2014 LPOTY competition. The shot was taken from the viewpoint at First Coast. This is the third time in 5 years that I have had an image commended in this prestigous national competition.
Angry Sea
The raging waves pound the outer breakwater at Aberdeen harbour, almost engulfing the lighthouse. At least the birds seem to be enjoying the conditions as much as me. This image was commended by the judges in the 2010 UK Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, published in the awards book and featured in an exhibition of the winning images in London.

Corgarff Castle
At the head of Strathdon on the Cockbridge to Tomintoul road, the castle is remote by most peoples standards. This image was commended by the judges in the 2009 UK Landscape Photographer of the year competition and features in the awards book.
